USQUERT (GR.) – With appropriate pride we can announce that Ben Woldring (’85) has been nominated for the election of Europe’s Best Young Entrepreneur. The Bencom director is the youngest candidate on a list of fifteen nominees which has been composed by the renowned international magazine Business Week.
Something a small country can excel in. The American magazine went looking for Europe’s best young entrepreneurs and asked their readers to suggest candidates. Hundreds of people were nominated, of which a list of fifteen candidates was selected. Among them are two Dutch entrepreneurs: Lars Duursma, worldchampion debating, and Ben Woldring.
Ben Woldring rose to fame when he started the site Bellen.com in 1998, at which the tariffs of various telephony products are being compared with each other. This site has developed into an independent comparison platform. After Bellen.com several other sites have been launched with comparisons of internet access products, digital television and utilities.
The winner will not be chosen by the editorial staff, instead, the online audience will be able to vote on their favorite candidate. People can vote on the site BusinessWeek.com, the five entrepreneurs with the highest number of votes will receive more attention from the magazine.
